The staff and students of DLES were touched by the numerous images of the Tsunami disaster.

We decided to hold a “Round the World” coin drive.

Students brought in as many coins as they could, taped them onto strips of paper and laid the strips end-to-end.

On Friday, January 7^th, 2005, we laid the strips down in the gym and managed to circumnavigate the gym 7 times.

In total we raised $1691.70, which the Federal Government has promised to match, for the Tsunami victims.

The money has been donated through UNICEF.
